Dick Clark's Flintstone Style Home

There is not much that cannot be said better with photos.  This will be a ‘mostly photo’ story.

Dick Clark, was known as American’s Oldest Teenager, but when it came to his determination to have a home built on his property that sits adjacent to the SantaMonica Mountains National Recreational Area, he was far from a teenager.  The park conservancy objected – at first – then Clark hired architect, Phillip Jon Brown.  Brown came up with the idea that if the house looked like a rock formation, there could be a happy ending here.  And so it was.
This one-of-a-kind residence in Malibu is a single story structure, sitting on 22 acres, with a boulder appearance on the exterior and the rocky interior of the home of Fred and Wilma Flintstone from the classic 60’s cartoon.  The real world version has one bedroom, two bathrooms, a fireplace, and several large glass windows offering views of Serrano Valley, the Boney Mountains, the Channel Islands, the Pacific Ocean, and sunsets and city lights.

Although the area is small, the interior feels open and spacious.  Can you say Yabba Dabba Doo?

AND THEN THERE ARE THE VIEWS
A HIDDEN BEAUTY, IN THE LIGHT OF DAY OR THE DARKEST NIGHT
